Overview

Fátima is one of the most important shrines in the world dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The main pilgrimage festivals take place from May to October on the 13th day of each month. Our visit is dedicated to the sanctuary area where some of the reported apparitions took place to the three shepherd children.

We did the one day private tour with Paulo to Fatima and Tomar. We cannot say enough about Paolo. He shared his historical knowledge & insight and was very familiar with the history of Portugal and the specific sights we visited. We visited these locations on a very stormy day. Paolo monitored the weather to change up the order and we were able to dodge most of the bad weather. He also brought us an umbrella. Paolo was very friendly. We enjoyed our many conversations throughout the day.

Wonderful experience: Paolo is so knowledgeable--an expert, really--on the history, architecture, and various art styles that have been so lovingly preserved at these sites. The chapel inside the Convent of Christ at Tomar is jaw-dropping. Hearing the history and legends while viewing these relics is so illuminating.
Great tour if you're curious, like to learn, and don't mind the oppressive July heat! The van was air-conditioned, and seated our group of 6 comfortably. The drive was a pleasant one, through beautiful landscapes and lush fields of grapes and olives.
Well-priced for a private tour; don't miss this gem with Paolo.

This was a fantastic day tour of Fatima and Tomar with Paulo our guide and driver. We were the only 4 pax in a comfortable MB van so it ended up being a private tour. Tomar is a must see for history buffs like us. Paulo was well versed in the Knights Templar history and we enjoyed listening to his stories. It was a comfortable day since it was a private tour and Paulo was flexible with our time, allowing us to go shopping in Fatima and buy religious objects. We were lucky to hear mass at Fatima and we had our rosaries blessed. I highly recommend taking this tour with Paulo! It was money well spent!!!
