Discover the charms of Fatima and let yourself be drawn into the spirituality of this place of worship and history.

Did you know that the Sanctuary of Fatima is one of the most special places of worship in the world?
Just in 2019, 6.3 million people visited Fatima.

It is not by chance that this site is known as The Altar of the World.

The Sanctuary of Fatima is located in Cova da Iria, a place that, until 1917, was unknown by the Portuguese themselves. One of the most important landmarks in modern religious history took place on that year.

Three children, Jacinta, Lúcia and Francisco — who would become known as the three little shepherds — witnessed the apparition of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Over the years, the stories of faith and the apparitions of Our Lady to the Little Shepherds have made Fatima a pilgrimage destination for people from all corners of the world.

This is not just another tour; it is a visit filled with tranquillity and knowledge.

Capela Das Aparicoes
The chapel of the Apparitions is the "heart" of the Shrine of Fatima.

It was in the place of the Chapel that the Virgin Mary talked to the little shepherds. Out of the six apparitions of the Virgin Mary, five of them happened in this place – May, June, July, September, and October – where, by the Lady’s indication, a chapel in her honour was to be constructed.

Built between April 28 and June 15, 1919, it was later blessed, having Mass been celebrated there for the first time on October 13, 1921. Dynamited in the morning of March 6, 1922, it was restored and reopened on January 13, 1923.

Basilica de Nossa Senhora do Rosario de Fatima
The temple consists of a large nave with presbytery, transept and two sacristies. It has 14 side altars in each altar, a mystery of the rosary.

One of the altars is where the tombs of Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia are. Since their beatification, a lot of people come inside to the basilica to see them.

Museu do Santuario de Fatima

The Museum of the Shrine of Fatima was founded in 1955 to preserve the “the remains of a past that starts (started) to be distant" and to gather a collection of historical, artistic and ethnographic items that could protect the memory of the testimonies of international pilgrimages of the Pilgrim's Virgin statue.

The museum also keeps the relics related to the history of the apparitions and their protagonists

Excellent tour of Fatima and a super tour guide, named Carlos.
John R, 15-02-2022
Our Tour Guide, Carlos, was excellent both in knowledge of Fatima and in his hospitality during the trip. He was very accommodating in transporting us to various sites at the Fatima Shrine. Also he took us to a nice restaurant for lunch. I highly recommend him as a tour guide.
A Trip Into The Past
Garyted, 27-08-2022
I enjoyed it all . I thought seeing the homes of the Shepard children was extremely interesting. I also enjoyed the individual attention and the knowledge Carlos had for the area. He was eager to please us and our conversation highlighted the trip. He made sure the trip satisfied our interests and we did not feel rushed.
Thank you Carlos,
You made the trip enjoyable.
We were able to visit all the sites in the sanctuary and took part in one of the services.

This day tour was definitely a major highlight of our 17 days spent in Spain and Portugal. Carlos was an excellent guide, taking us to a local restaurant for lunch and also included a walk from the sanctuary to the nearby town where the Shepard children lived.
It is good to avoid visiting the sanctuary on days around the 13th of the month since it is usually very crowded with pilgrims during this time.
Extraordinary - Shrine of Fatima with Carlos
er2247rb, 16-07-2022
I took this Private Fatima Spiritual tour with Carlos who was absolutely extraordinary in personalization, flexibility, knowledge, open sharing, and also, understanding of desire/need for quiet time as we toured. I saw and heard about every part of the shrine, the spiritual walk from the Shrine to the children's homes and then the walk through their home. A wonderful lunch plus another stop or two on the way back to Porto where I stayed. Most tours gave only 3 hours for the shrine and I knew I wanted more time. I would highly, highly recommend Carlos for this tour and especially encourage other singles for the safety and security of such travel. It is a little more expensive for the single traveler for obvious reasons but so worth every penny. Thank you Carlos. I still pray for you!!
Great tour to Fatima
DelmyGAvalos, 26-07-2022
July is the best month to visit Porto because It's not too hot. Our tour guide Carlos was fantastic! My family and I enjoyed our tour to Fatima. He pointed out things we didn't know. He was very informative, very nice and accomodating. He picked us up from our cruise terminal and had water already waiting for us. His Mercedes Benz van is new, clean, air conditioned and extremely comfortable with plenty of room for a family of four, but it could accomodate more people easily. I only wish we had had more time in Porto, but we will return and will not hesitate to contact Carlos for our next tour. We highly recommend Endless Weekend Tours and Carlos as a tour guide. You will not be dissapointed. Excellent service!+++
