Overview

São Miguel island has many beautiful natural sights, but if we would have only one day Sete Cidades and the West will be our first choice to visit. The West is the post card of the island and you really can´t miss it.

The West part of the island is full of highlands and lowlands, lots of up and down the mountain, narrow roads through cliffs and craters, therefore covering all of the sights and navigating it is really much easier with local guide. This way you will be able to cover all of the West and Sete Cidades in half a day. Plus this is a private tour, so you can take as long as you like in your favorite places.

Excellent customizable private tour experience at a fantastic price. Conducted in English by a friendly and knowledgeable local guide. In addition to the west tour, we also did a second day on the east. Easily the best thing we did during our trip.

What a magical day we had with Carlos! Although we were originally supposed to depart earlier, Carlos suggested a later start time in order to catch the Ferraria thermal pool at low tide. Getting to experience Ferraria was a highlight of our time on Sao Miguel, so definitely listen to his advice on how to catch it at its best!

Carlos took us to all of the best viewpoints on the west coast, and was so knowledgeable about the island's history and culture. We had so much fun that we also spent another full-day with him doing a private tour of the central and east coast as well.

We loved the flexibility of a private tour, and are very grateful to Carlos and Monique for showing us the best of Sao Miguel. Highly recommend this tour!

Id leave 10 stars if i could! Such an amazing trip we had beautiful weather and gorgeous destinations. Carlos our tour guide had so much knowledge of the island, so friendly/kind, not only giving us information but also helping a few tourist along the way. He also recommended to start later in the day which was the best thing to do. We will definitely be booking another tour when we come back. If you are visit las azores you have to take this tour.

Great tour of the island west end. Our guide made adjustments to take the fog into consideration. We had a nice local cheese and wine tasting in a great outdoor setting.
