Overview
This is an intense full day tour that allows you to see all of the island in one day, in a pleasurable way!
The Grand Circle includes all of the three volcanoes and main lakes (Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo and Furnas), and we cover the best viewpoints, from one end to the island to the other. Along the way we make sure that you also visit the tea plantation and grant you the chance to try one of the local thermal pools, all must see highlights of the island.
Although you should expect some driving to allow reaching all of these places, the roads and views along the way are memorable and worth the journey on themselves - lush green fields, cows, flowers, ocean and cliffs, and your guide makes sure you have plenty of stops to enjoy them, and also some time for snacks and coffee break along the way.
This is the way to go if you only have a short stay in the island, or if you want a first introduction to all of it before you explore it on your own for the next days.

We highly recommend this personal tour.
He arrived on time, was very happy, chatty, friendly and informative - he truly did a fantastic job!
We experienced the key attractions including Furnas and Sète Cidades which he filled with incredible tales and facts along the way. We also got to stop and enjoy a tea factory and taste the local produce too.
Carlos let us shape the tour the way we wanted and added his favourite locations too.
A great way to see the island and I definitely recommend doing so for any new visitors to Sao Miguel.

He was very responsive to offer us a completely different program, due to bad weather conditions. We were able to visit the entire eastern part of the island, and discover beautiful places. Carlos is very pleasant, has a very wide culture and punctuated the day with very interesting anecdotes and historical stories. This day was an emergency solution following the cancellation of our car reservation, but we were finally very happy with this imponderable!
